No limit Texas Holdem is a game that has become increasingly more and more popular over the past couple of years. The main draw to the game is the amounts of money that are won and lost on a daily basis. To become a successful poker player it takes years and sometimes a lifetime to be recognized as one of the best. Many players who are new to Texas Holdem will look at short term results and not take in to mind the long term nature of the game. Short term results are what can get a bankroll going in the right direction, but there are many things to keep in mind when sitting down to play No Limit Texas Holdem. The most important thing is to adjust to the way a table is playing and use what other players are doing wrong to your advantage.

Playing Styles

There are a couple of ways to play a game like No Limit Texas Holdem, but everyone has their own view. When it comes to all forms of the game, whether it is tournaments, cash games, or heads up games, in general, the way to be the best is to put your opponent to a decision for all of their chips on a consistent basis. If you can do this repeatedly when playing against your opponents you will have the upper hand in the long run. The main reason is because if you are putting your opponents to big decisions then you will have less stress, and will not have to make as many tough calls. You will also avoid being priced in or stuck in pots.

If you are playing in a No Limit game the whole key is to play aggressive. If you play aggressive you can run over opponents sometimes and then you will also get them to call you when you do have big hands. If you find an aggressive style that best suits you, then you should become a winning player over the long run. The one thing you don’t want to do is play passively over the long haul. If you play passive and only look to enter pots with premium holding cards like big pocket pairs, you will become very predictable. You want to be the opposite of that, which is unpredictable. If you are unpredictable you will always be feared when you sit down, and opponents will avoid playing big pots with you for this reason.

Game/Limit Selection

Picking the proper games and limits to play in No Limit Texas Holdem is just as important as finding a proper diet of what to eat every day. This is important because you never want to have no money left after a session, and you don’t want to over exude your bankroll. You should look to slowly build up more and more money every time you play. Playing poker and especially Texas Holdem full time is one of the hardest jobs out there, but if you are good at it, and choose games wisely, then you shouldn’t have much trouble and it can become a very nice fit for you. The hardest part is finding what games to play.

If you are a wildly aggressive player, often times, heads up games or cash games are going to be two of your best games. In heads up games and cash games, you can win a lot of money or lose a lot of money in a matter of minutes. You want to minimize bad decisions and losses, and maximize profit when you win. It is difficult at first to figure these things out, but over time you will know what you can beat and what you cannot beat. Once you find games that you are making money at, you should look to slowly build up a bankroll, and then take some shots at the higher limit games within that form of No Limit Texas Holdem. If you can choose your games wisely, then you should have long term success and stability within your bankroll.

No Limit Texas Hold'em Strategy Tips

When it comes to Texas Hold'em strategy, it's not about how much you read, it's about how much you learn.

Every time you read a Texas Hold'em strategy article, you should be actively trying to absorb the information as you go along. It's all well and good reading a whole bunch of articles, but if nothing is sinking in or making a real difference to the way you play, then it's going to be pretty useless.

If you actually take the strategy from this site on board and use it during play, I don't see any reason why you can't win money from Texas Hold'em. Winning money from Texas Hold'em is pretty straightforward when you know how.

Even though I am very confident that the strategy on this site is of great quality, I always recommend exercising a little common sense when it comes to Texas Hold'em strategy and tips. Anyone can write poker strategy and post it on the Internet, but that doesn't make it good strategy. Think about what you're reading, and if it makes sense to you then perfect. It's a great idea to take advice from other successful players, but it's even better to use your head at the same time.
