Gulfstream Park Roulette Bet
Gulfstream Park brings us ten-race turf and dirt racing schedule of mostly claiming matches to make you happy whether you’re celebrating the end of the week, the beginning of the weekend, or International Mountain Day.
Gulfstream Park first opened in 1939 before reopening in 1944. Located in Hallandale Beach, Florida, it hosts several notable races. It features two courses, a 1 1/8-mile dirt course and a one-mile turf course. Originally, it had a one-mile dirt oval and seven-furlong turf oval before a 2005 renovation. Gulfstream Park info. Gulfstream Park brings us ten lively thoroughbred competitions on both turf and dirt tracks for our Thursday wagering and entertainment. I cover Thursday’s three richest races at Gulfstream Park, but you can find their entire ten-race card — including entries, jockeys, M/L odds, and wagering options — at one of our top horse racing betting sites.
Okay, maybe our cause for celebration is just the chance to buy a win ticket or two, but that should be every day, right?
In any case, I review Friday’s three richest turf races at Gulfstream Park, but you can find their entire ten-race card at one of our best horse racing betting sites.

This is a maiden claiming race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of one mile on turf for a purse of $39,000.
Plenty of star power in the irons for this race, and I’m buying my win ticket for the third-favored (3/1) entry — Cat Lady, with Emisael Jaramillo aboard. This three-year-old filly moneyed three of her five career starts.
There are two 20/1 longshots in this seven-horse race, but I don’t see either of them finishing with a paycheck, so save your long money for later.
- Win: Cat Lady 3/1
This is an allowance optional claiming race for two-year-olds running a distance of one mile on turf for a purse of $47,000.
My money is on the third-favored (7/2) entry, Tarantino, with Edgard Zayas in the irons. This colt moneyed both of his career starts, winning one, missing a second win by a hair in the Zuma Beach Stakes at Santa Anita in October.
The longest odds in this race are 15/1, and those aren’t long enough to warrant a show bet.
- Win: Tarantino 7/2
This is an allowance optional claiming race for three-year-olds and upward running a distance of five furlongs on turf for a purse of $47,000.
I’m sticking with the 9/5 morning line favorite here — Pay Any Price, ridden by Paco Lopez. This ten-year-old gelding moneyed 25 of his 33 career starts, winning 19 of them. A large percentage of his starts have been in Listed and Black Type stakes races, the latest of which was the Bob Umphrey Turf Sprint Stakes (Black Type) at Gulfstream Park in July. He won that one.
There are several 30/1 and 20/1 longshots in this race, but the longest I’ll go for a value show bet on the 20/1 Kobe Fifty Two, with Victor Lebron in the irons. This four-year-old gelding finished in the money four of his five career starts, winning two.
- Win: Pay Any Price 9/5
- Show: Kobe Fifty Two 20/1

Gulfstream Park delivered up a couple of viable underdogs for us, and I found more of the same at the other two tracks I reviewed for Friday:

This is an allowance optional claiming race for Florida-bred fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of six furlongs for a purse of $40,000.
I’m backing the fourth-favored (5/1) entry in this race — Bramble Berry, with ace jockey Paco Lopez in the irons. This three-year-old filly finished in the money five of her 13 career starts, three of them wins — and her 2020 records are even more pertinent: Five money finishes in nine starts, three of them wins.
The longest I’ll go for a value show wager here is the 12/1 Uncaptured Ruby, ridden by Joe Bravo. This three-year-old filly moneyed six of her 12 career starts, winning three.
- Win: Bramble Berry 5/1
- Show: Uncaptured Ruby 12/1
This is an allowance optional claiming race for two-year-olds running a distance of one mile for a purse of $47,000.
I’ll be sticking with the 5/2 morning line favorite for this race — Moonlite Strike, with Edgard Zayas aboard. This colt moneyed one of his two career starts with a win. This matches him up with the second and third-favored entries in this race, both of which have exactly the same one-for-two records.
Gulfstream Park Roulette Bet
What differentiates Moonlite Strike is his slightly superior speed indexes in the two starts he has on record.
The longest odds in this race are 12/1, and I wouldn’t risk a show bet on either of the two colts competing at those odds.
- Win: Moonlite Strike 5/2
This is an allowance optional claiming race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of one mile on turf for a purse of $47,000.
I have to agree with the morning line on this race, so I’m backing the 2/1 favorite, Osaka Girl, with Julien Leparoux in the irons. This three-year-old filly moneyed six of her eight career starts, winning one.
None of the longer odds entries in this race are worth risking a show wager.
- Win: Osaka Girl 2/1
Gulfstream Park gave us some good profitable wagering prospects, but you’ll find more surprises at the other two tracks I reviewed for Thursday:
